Moving is never a fun time, but it does not have to be a nightmare if you solid process when using your moving container.

Using a few different tips can go a long way towards ensuring your move goes smoothly with as a few extra issues as possible. Here, are four things you can do to help you avoid some common issues that people experience.

1. Do not pack beyond 85 to 90% capacity.

Many people think they are being practical by cramming as much stuff as they can into a moving container. Unfortunately, this is a bad idea. The reason is that too much stuff in the unit can make it difficult to open the unit. This is because too much weight is pressed against the door. Another issue is that if you realize you have misplaced loading something, you will have a real struggle finding it when it is jam packed. However, the biggest reason to do it this way is you will invariably have a few extra things you will need to add at the last minute and this is why you want to go only 85 to 90% so you may have room in the end for these remaining items.

2. Plan your loading ahead of time with essentials near the door.

People with a plan have a much more smooth moving process. Do as they do and plan ahead. One way of doing this is to ensure that the items you might decide you need at the last minute are near the door rather than buried deep in the pod. This seemingly simple tip can save you a good hour so be sure to apply it.

3. Make an inventory of all your belongings and mark the boxes.

An inventory list of what is in each box can help you in the loading and unloading of your unit. It helps with the loading because you can more easily find anything last minute or add in any last minute items in an appropriately relevant box. It helps with unloading because you can tell the loaders to take the boxes right where they need to go like the bedroom boxes to the bedroom and the kitchen supplies to the kitchen. This may seem obvious, but doing it this way can save you a good 30 minutes to an hour on your unpacking.

4. Get plenty of moving blankets and appropriate moving boxes.

These containers offer a solid ride where your items are protected. But this is not a reason to make sure the items are not protected properly with appropriate moving boxes and moving containers. Make sure you have your stuff properly protected just in case there is an accident. The cost is minimal and so there is no reason not to do it.
